‘Sail Away Aegean’
Set off on an all day adventure aboard the ‘Thassos’ and explore some of the most striking islands in all of Greece. The Sporades, meaning ‘scattered’ islands are spread out like small green jewels dotted in a cobalt sea. These islands are well-known for their extreme beauty and the abundance of pine forests where Skopelos claims the unofficial title of ‘Greenest Island in the Mediterranean’.

This 41ft Beneteau sailing yacht and its Captain Vassilis can offer a small group of only 9 persons a fabulous day of true sailing. Under full sail at every opportunity, guests will be able to take the helm and learn from a master sailor. Of course those who just want to enjoy the cooling winds and sunshine can relax on deck as the winds guide the itinerary of the day. This trip is perfect for those sailors who itch to holiday on their own boat but don’t have the luxury of time. It is also great for families who want to introduce their children to one of the most thrilling and pleasurable pastimes in the world of sport. Perhaps best of all – there is always a great possibility of being joined by a school of dolphins playing along side the boat as it quietly skims the sea.

The day includes plenty of chances for swimming and snorkeling. There will be refreshments available on board and a stop for lunch at a traditional seaside village where you will have the choice of home-cooked Greek food or freshly caught seafood – or alternatively, pack your own picnic lunch!

‘Sunset Cruise’
The other exclusive trip will be on board the elegant, Panther, a 65ft Paolo Galliari designed yacht offering a relaxing sunset cruise in the calm waters near Alonissos. With a group of just 15 persons, this comfortable setting will be the closest many of us will ever get to having our own private yacht – even if only for a day. The evening begins with a beautiful view of Skopelos town and harbour as we leave the port and head toward the island of Alonissos. The first stop will be for an early evening swim before the sun sets. Back on board there are 6 cabins for showering and changing before happy hour begins. A premium quality dinner will then be served while watching the sun go down beyond the neighbouring islands. With music and a friendly atmosphere along with our Thalpos Holidays guide, you will feel as if you are truly living the ‘good life’. ‘Day Out to Alonissos’
The organized cruise on board our traditional Greek fishing boat or ‘caique’ is one not to be missed. The ‘Gorgona’ and its captain have lived on these islands since birth and have a wealth of information and stories of days gone by – so much to learn!

A day out on the ‘Gorgona’ gives us the chance to see and enjoy some of the islands most popular beaches, such as Vithisma, Peristera Island and Steni Vala, with the delight of swimming off of the boat. Steni Vala is the small undeveloped fishing bay at Alonissos where typical fish tavernas and the very first ‘MOm’ base (for the protection of the Mediterranean Monk seal) can be found. Alonissos also has a rather famous ‘Blue Cave’ which the captain will nose the boat into to see the turquoise reflection of the waters on the cave walls – a perfect photo opportunity! When stopping at Patitiri there is an optional visit by coach to the old village, a real beauty covering two hillsides and offering amazing views, unusual architecture and stunning scenery.
