Overview
Fonesei is a gorgeous detached villa, perched upon a wonderful vantage point on the headland that separates Kalami from Kouloura. To one side it looks down over the little bay at Kalami where the famous White House, residence of the Durrell family during their sojourn to Corfu some 80 years ago, is located. On the other it enjoys views out over Kouloura, an equally breathtaking sight.

The villa is set in attractive gardens, where the views and fabulous infinity pool can be enjoyed. But also in the gardens is a second property, a cottage that sleeps 4 people and comes as part of the Villa Fonesei package.

Layout
The main house offers accommodation predominantly on a single level. It comprises a large open plan sitting room and dining area, separate kitchen, two bedrooms, one double, one twin, a shower room and a cloakroom. There are extensive covered verandas at the front of the house and rear of the property, one with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors that forms a second dining area. Beneath the house is a laundry room.

The cottage is also on one level. Here there are two bedrooms, a double and atwin, both of which have their own en suite shower rooms, accessed via walk through wardrobes.

Both properties are furnished and maintained to a very high standard, offering space, light and elegance as standard.

Living and Dining Room
This spacious room enjoys lots of natural light from the French windows that look out over three aspects of the property. The attractive timbered apex ceiling is a traditional Corfiot feature that adds to the feeling of light and space.

The living area centres around a large feature fireplace, with sumptuous leather sofas and chic modern chairs as well as satellite TV and a DVD.

To one side of the living room is a dining area that is furnished with formal table and chairs, positioned so that they can make the most of the French windows and views they offer.

Kitchen :
The kitchen is both large and well equipped. Accessed from the dining area through a pair of glazed doors, it boasts halogen hob, oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer as well as ample workspace and storage. Perfect for the preparation of full meals, not just snacks and sandwiches.

Bedrooms
The master bedroom is a double. Its timbered floor, wrought iron bedstead and lamps give the room a charming, rustic feel. With windows on two walls there is no shortage of natural light and a ceiling fan ensures a pleasant breeze, even on the hottest of days.
The second bedroom is a twin. It has attractive lightwood furniture, timbered floor, ceiling fan and large picture window overlooking the garden. Again the light and airy theme is apparent in this elegant space.

Bathrooms
The family shower room is both attractive and functional, equipped with lavatory, bidet, large shower cubical and vanity unit. In addition the villa has a sizeable cloakroom.

The Cottage
The cottage is ideal for any party members looking for a little privacy whilst still being part of the party. Whether grandparents, a second family or even teenagers wanting their own space, the cottage is a welcome and versatile additional accommodation.
It comprises of two bedrooms. One double the other a twin. Both are furnished in contemporary light wood styles, and have patio doors that lead out to the attractive gardens that the cottage and main villa are set in. Both also enjoy large walk in wardrobes that lead through to their own en suite shower rooms. Both shower rooms are fresh and spacious each having a glass shower cubicle, wc and vanity unit.

Verandas and terraces
This property was designed with outdoor living in mind. It offers every variation on the theme. It has a large, covered veranda that runs the length of the main villa and overlooks the garden. This is pleasantly furnished with table and chairs.
On the other side of the building a further veranda with sliding glass doors offers an alternative area to eat in, making the most of the views. This space has the option of being enclosed against the elements, just in case.
At one end of the villa there is a large patio, again amply furnished, whilst at one side of the cottage there is yet another patio with a pergola style shade over part of it.
Poolside there is a lovely sun terrace.
If you choose to stay at Fonesei your biggest holiday decision may well be where best to enjoy that barbecue!

Outside
A sweeping paved driveway brings you to the front of the house. To one side there is ample covered parking space which has been designed to blend into its surroundings.
To the rear, the property enjoys extensive gardens. Beautifully maintained lawns with splashes of rich colours from the many flowering shrubs and plants that adorn both beds and pots, all traversed by locally quarried stone pathways and sun terraces.

Private Pool
The pool is simply stunning. Infinity style, if there were a waterfall on the far side, teeming down to Kalami Bay you would probably not be surprised! The poolside patio has eight loungers and parasols, allowing guests to soak up the sunshine whilst enjoying those amazing views.
