INTERIOR

This old country house is entered from the courtyard into an open plan living/dining room on the main level with the well-equipped kitchen just three steps down which is fitted with a washing machine. The double bedroom is reached by two steps up from the living/dining area and has a small wardrobe and original stone walls. A wooden stairway leads to the large, open twin bedroom (there is no door to close off stairway) fitted with two single beds, a wardrobe, desk and French windows that lead to a spacious private balcony with views of the surrounding hills and to the sea in the distance. The cottage is decorated throughout with family antiques and the sitting room has a “skopeliti” sofa. For as far as the eye can see, there are the stunning green hues of the pristine nature which surrounds this lovely house.

EXTERIOR
Antigoni House is set in spacious private gardens with fig, almond and quince trees and is centred around a lovely courtyard with an outdoor dining table and one of the few remaining original stone-built prune ovens. A few steps up from the courtyard is a private swimming pool with outdoor furniture and umbrella from where you can relax and soak up the wonderful Greek sunshine. No other houses overlook Antigoni, so the house and grounds have total privacy - distant goat bells are often the only sounds to be heard.

SURROUNDINGS
Set in the heart of the island, though only 1.5 km off of the main island road, Antigoni House is set on the hillside above the valley of Potami, or 'river' in Greek. This idyllic house is away from civilisation and in every direction there are wide and beautiful views to admire; on a clear day, it is even possible to see the island of Evia in the distance. The popular beach of Panormos is just 6.5 km, or 15 minutes by car and has a mini market and tavernas lining the beach - a perfect place to spend long days in the sun and evenings watching the sunset. Skopelos town is approximately 11 km from the house with its full array of restaurants, shopping and cafes.

SUITABILITY
Antigoni House is perfect for those who enjoy the nature and solitude found only in the interior of the island. It is ideal for couples wanting a romantic holiday or for a family looking for peace and tranquillity as well as being near to some of the island' s most beautiful beaches. Due to the number of steps both inside and outside the house, it may not be suitable for very young children or those with walking difficulties.

Car hire is essential as there is no local taxi service to this house
