New to our programme for 2011, the fantastic Villa Melitini sits near the top of the hillside in the Raches area of the island, with stunning views over Skopelos harbour and out to the Aegean Sea as well as to the opposite hillside with its monasteries and churches.

INTERIOR

Steps from the parking area lead down to the main entrance of this high quality villa, with a brick built BBQ opposite.   From the entrance hall, a doorway to the left leads to a large bedroom with double bed, wardrobes and two sets of French windows leading out onto the top, decked terrace with wonderful views over the harbour.   This bedroom has a large en suite shower room complete with power shower and spa jets. 

The doorway to the right of the hallway leads to a huge open plan living room with large, modern kitchen and a glass dining table and chairs to seat six.  The living room is very spacious and airy, with comfortable sofas facing two sets of French windows with Juliet balconies overlooking the harbour.  A third set of French windows lead out to the decked terrace with its outdoor furnishings.   There is also a feature stone fireplace, air conditioning and a 42” TV, complete with limited satellite channels and DVD player.  The modern kitchen is very large and comes extremely well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and large American style refrigerator with ice and water dispenser.

Stairs from the living area take you down to the lower floor where, to the left, you will find an enormous bathroom with walk-in dressing room, large Jacuzzi bath and separate shower cabinet with power shower as well as twin washbasins and a toilet and bidet.   The washing machine is also housed in this bathroom.   There are two further bedrooms on this lower floor:  one has a double bed, built in wardrobes and dressing table and a huge en suite shower room.   It also has wooden floors and French windows leading out onto the extensive lower terrace with its pergola covered dining table and chairs.  The second bedroom on this floor has twin beds, wardrobes and two sets of French windows opening out onto the same lower terrace, overlooking the swimming pool.  A small office sits to the side of this bedroom and has a computer and printer for the use of guests as well as internet connection.   

EXTERIOR
A steep and narrow driveway leads down from the access road to the small parking area which sits above the house.   Steps from here lead down to the main entrance door, with built in BBQ opposite, and steps to either side of the house lead to the many terraces around the front of the house, designed to take full advantage of the stunning views.   Steps to the left of the house lead to the upper, decked terrace which is furnished and can also be accessed from either the living room or bedroom on the upper floor of the house.   A few more steps lead to a smaller, more private area which has cushioned seating and a shady pergola before carrying on down to the large lowerterrace.   Steps to the right of the house lead straight down to this very spacious lower terrace which is mainly tiled but also has a fantastic wooden decked area to the right of the swimming pool, which has a lovely shady pergola and comfortable sofa seating.   On this terrace, there is also a large shaded dining table and chairs together with a further large portable BBQ conveniently placed for al fresco meals around the pool.  The lovely swimming pool purposely sits at the front and bottom of the property to take full advantage of the views over the harbour and across the sea towards Alonissos.

SURROUNDINGS
Villa Melitini  is in the green and peaceful area of Raches, on the hillside above Skopelos Town but only 12 minutes away from all the amenities of town by car and twenty minutes by car from the beautiful beaches on the west coast of the island.  The beaches of Glyfoneri and Glysteri are nearby and there are many old walking trails in the immediate area.

SUITABILITY
This lovely, spacious villa is suitable for either couples travelling together or families with older children who want the convenience of being close to the town whilst, at the same time, being away from the crowds.   As there are a number of steps and differing levels, this property may not be suitable for young children or those people with mobility problems.

Please note that only a small car can be driven down the drive to the parking area.   Those guests with larger cars may park them at the top of the property and walk down to the house.
