WEDDING VENUES ON SKOPELOS ISLAND
If you have ever dreamed of a romantic wedding ceremony on a beach as the sun sets in the back round – Skopelos may be the perfect place to make your dreams come true. We have several beach locations which make a wonderful backdrop for any wedding. Imagine venues of gleaming white beaches and the clear blue Aegean seas and use of a nearby taverna as your reception venue. We have organized many casual and more formal ceremonies at the below locations on the island:
Agnondas Beach:
This picturesque fishing village is one of the most stunning on the island as the thick pine forests descend down to the deep waters of this protected harbour of Agnondas. The waters are cobalt and clear and the tavernas sit right at the waters edge. A wedding on the beach is possible here or on the small wooden jetty just in front of a taverna. A wonderful added touch is for the bride to arrive by a decorated traditional fishing boat from around the headland and be met by an awaiting groom on the jetty. Receptions can be held at the taverna which specializes in home-made Greek food. Sunset weddings are particularly beautiful at this location.
Limnonari Beach:
The sandy white beach of Limnonari is a favourite location for weddings. Casual and informal is the theme here where couples can marry with a back drop of the protected cove and its turquoise waters. The ceremony can take place on the beach itself or under the canopy of Mediterranean Pine at the taverna that sits at the edge of the beach and specializes in traditional Greek food. Sunset weddings are particularly beautiful at this location.
Adrina Beach Hotel:
For a more formal atmosphere and venue, the Adrina Beach Hotel is a stunning location - particularly for larger wedding parties. Arrival of the bride by boat is also available here with its longer and wider jetty. The restaurant can cater for any desire and specializes in seafood. The entire pool area and private beach are available for the wedding party and the more formal decorations are beautifully done by the hotel.
Glysteri Beach:
This beach which is found around the headland from Skopelos Town makes a lovely venue for a reception after a Town Hall wedding ceremony. Guests can be taken from just in front of the Town Hall via decorated water taxi (approx 15min ride) to arrive at this seaside taverna. The shingle beach here is a bit rough for ceremonies to be held on the beach itself. The taverna can cater for large parties and specializes in seafood and traditional Greek cuisine.
Keriatitis Summer Bar:
The location and funky atmosphere of this bar make it a perfect choice for those wanting a casual atmosphere and saving the expense of transportation to and from an out of town wedding venue. Its location directly across the bay from Skopelos Town makes for absolutely stunning views from any position on the large property. The bar sits amongst a full canopy of pine forest which allows nature to decorate the area with a wonderful and unique atmosphere. Wedding receptions held at this venue will need to be catered and casual seating is on café tables for food. One is sure to have spectacular wedding photos from Kariatitis Summer Bar!
Episkopi Monastery:
This private monastery and tiny chapel makes a lovely venue for those wanting a small and intimate atmosphere for their wedding vows. Situated just outside of town and surrounded by its original fortress walls, the mature gardens and historic feel of the place give a special atmosphere to the weddings held here. Please keep in mind that those not of the Greek Orthodox faith may only be married outside of the chapel but within the fortress walls.
