· Boating
The islands` rocky coastline hides many secluded coves and bays, some only accessible by boat, so many visitors take to the waters and travel around the island, enjoying spectacular views of Paxos and the charming and remote hidden beaches, particularly on the east coast.

· Sailing
The three main villages on the island are all natural harbours, and popular ports of call for visiting yachts. Set sail and embark on a scenic tour of the islands, or just sit back and enjoy the charming scenery and the picturesque sight of the boats moored in the docks of Gaios, Loggos or Lakka.

· Water sports
The beaches of the island offer a range of water sports, with many facilities situated along the main beach at Lakka in particular. WInd-surfing, parasailing, wake-boarding, water-skiing, pedalos, as well as fishing, can all be enjoyed whilst on a holiday in Paxos.

· Diving and snorkelling
With crystal-clear waters and a rugged seabed home to a variety of sites and marine life, conditions are excellent in Paxos for both diving and snorkelllng. A dive school in Lakka offers equipment and a range of tuition with qualified instructors.

· Walking and hiking
With paths and trails all over the island, and spectacular scenery, Paxos is a haven for walkers. Choose from coastal paths along the cliffs boasting stunning views, to scenic country trails through shady woods and olive groves, taking in delightful landscapes dotted with ancient villages and churches, as well as a host of local flora and fauna.

· Excursions
Organised excursions are widely available, from boat trips to the stunning sea caves and grottos of the west coast, to sea-taxi hops to the sister island of Anti-Paxos with its stunning sandy beaches, as well as ferry rides over to Pargos on the mainland, a charming harbour with some great restaurants.

· Shopping
Paxos retains a traditional atmosphere and charming villages to explore, offering plenty of local goods and produce as souvenirs. Choose from pottery, ceramics, jewellery and leather, to delicious wines, honey and cheeses, as well as the islands` famous olive oil.
